WAYNE BEECHER

Extensive background in all aspects of the wool industry. Began initiation into the wool industry as a wool grower on the family property and completed his wool classing certificate in 1979.  Whilst working on the farm Wayne worked in shearing sheds around the local area either wool classing, rouseabouting or shearing. While working in one of these sheds he was offered a job in a small wool buying business in 1983 which started his career in the wool trade.

In 1985 Wayne accepting a position as Wool Buyer with Lachlan Industries a Japanese owned wool top processor based locally in Cowra, buying wool at auction in Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane and Goulburn.

In 1986 he took up the position of NSW and QLD trading manager for the International Trading Division of Dalgetys (Aust) Pty Ltd, overseeing the forward purchasing and sales of wool direct from farm gate to mill 

In 1993 Wayne established Beecher Wool Services. He auctioneers for Beecher Wool Services and is the managing director of the business. In 2000 he was honoured to co- judge the prestigious Erminegildo Zegna wool awards.

Wayne is a foundation member of AWEX, foundation director of Inland Wool Brokers Association, current Chairman of the Inland Woolbrokers Association, past representative on the National Auction Selling Committee  and an AWEX accredited appraiser .
